New wizard and Aviary photo editor

We rolled out a number of exciting new features over the past week: a wizard that makes it easy to create a memory in seconds and a simple but powerful photo editing tool.

Using the wizard is delightfully simple: click "get started" on our landing page, then connect with Facebook. Select a date, the friends you were with, then pick any of your or your friends' photos. Your memory has been captured! We've also included tips at every step. You can see each previous step, so it's easy to go back and add more as you go.

We worked with a great company, Aviary, to bring you powerful and fun photo editing tools. You can now edit (crop, rotate, remove red-eye) photos on the fly and even add fun filters and effects (instant, toy camera, stickers, etc.). In the wizard you can edit the photo you select to be the album cover, or click on any photo in your memory and select "edit photo" from the light box.

Want to share your edited photos with all of your friends on Facebook? Select "save to Facebook" after you save your photo and it will be posted to your Facebook wall and put in an album where you can see all of the photos you edited on Kaptur.

Thursday Tips - Sharing is Caring!!

Sharing is an essential part of the whole experience when creating a Lasting Memory with Kaptur. Taking advantage of this feature will ensure that your memory is seen by everyone that you would enable to see. Knowing how to enable these features are simple and only take a click! of the mouse. Here are simple Tips on sharing your wonderful memory with other Friends, Family, and even the Whole World if your up for the task.

Sharing your Memory through Social Media: One of the simplest features with kaptur.com is its ability to connect different Social Media Platforms like Facebook, and Twitter.

There are buttons throughout your memory that allow you to Simply connect. If you would like to share your whole memory, simply select one of the Facebook, Email, or Twitter Icons on the left of your memory. an example of these icons are to the left.


If you'd rather just share a picture, Simply select the Picture from the carousel, and you have an option to share the picture through Email, Facebook, Direct Link. additionally, you can also print, and download the photo. Sharing with other Kapturites: from Summary on you memory page, There is an important setting, Privacy Settings, which enables you to change Who can view, and Who can Contribute to your Memory. Simply edit these setting through the drop down menu, and your now sharing your memory with those of your Choice. Now try it yourself

Teradata Corp. has agreed to acquire the 89% of Aster Data Systems Inc. that it doesn't already own for $263 million, in the latest big-ticket acquistion in the hot big data analytics space.

"This is a great fit for Teradata...a smart, well thought-out strategic move," said Aster Data board member and Jafco Ventures General Partner Joe Horowitz. "There are a lot of applications where big data sets need to be crunched in real time, and this is a new architecture to address that."

The move should help Teradata's customers analyze the exploding volumes of data generated by social networks, sensor networks and other areas where traditional database tools have fallen short.
